Spoilervarning: Harry Potter
Nope, ingen tull inom EU ;)
Lite off-topic, men ändå J.K Rowling relaterat.
Köpte The casual vacancy idag. Läst 40 sidor.
Vet inte vad jag tycker än, lite tidigt att säga, men gillar språket.
Vi fick göra ett valfritt projekt i engelskan idag.. Detta är vad jag åstadkom. :)
Remus walked up the stairs to Dumbledore's office with a heavy feeling in his stomach and his head full of questions. He wondered why Dumbledore had flooed him this late at night, and his gut told him it had to be something very serious.
Sherbet Lemons, he told the gargoyle that guarded Dumbledore's office. The gargoyle hopped aside and a spiral staircase appeared. Remus stepped onto the staircase and had to hold on to the pillar in the middle for support, Remus had never liked sitting or standing on moving objects, one of the main reasons to why he had never been interested in playing Quidditch.
The staircase ride was much shorter than he remembered it from the countless times he'd been called up to Dumbledore's office together with Sirius, James and Peter. As he knocked on the office door, he smiled fondly at the memory of a certain time when he had stood on that very same staircase because of a prank Sirius had pulled on a couple of First Years. The teachers knew very well that Remus was rarely involved in the pranks that were carried out on other students, but they also knew that James and Sirius needed him to explain the terrible accident, which apparently, they had nothing to do with.
Remus was quickly snapped out of his thoughts when Dumbledore opened the door and gestured for him to come inside. Remus gave Dumbledore an uncertain smile and stepped into the room. He felt like someone had punched him in the stomach when he only got a weak, tired smile back, instead of the warm smile Dumbledore usually gave him. Now he was absolutely sure that something was wrong.
Welcome, Remus dear. I do believe you'll want to sit down when you hear what I have to tell you, Dumbledore said, and conjured up an armchair with a wave of his wand.
What might be so important that you felt the need to contact me at this hour, Professor? Remus asked tentatively, his amber eyes looking very tired.
Dumbledore sighed and looked at Remus with sad eyes, then he stepped closer to Remus' chair, took his bony, scarred hand in his and crouched down so that his eyes were level with Remus' face. There was an audible creak when his old knees were forced to bend.
What I'm going to tell you now is going to be painful, but I want you to know that you will never be alone. You're always welcome at Hogwarts, Dumbledore's hand tightened around Remus' to emphasize this, and his voice was calm, but held an undertone of sadness.
Remus looked even paler than it usually did, Well? he croaked. He could feel his heart beating rapidly in his chest.
James and Lily are dead, and so is Peter. Sirius has been arrested for the murder of Peter and betrayal of Lily and James, Dumbledore waited for the reaction.
Remus fell. At least that's what it felt like in his mind, and seconds later he found himself on the floor, in Dumbledore's arms. His whole world came crushing down around him. Dumbledore held him and stroked his back while he cried.
The sun rose slowly above the horizon, casting a dull, red glow around the room. Dumbledore leaned against the armchair he had conjured up earlier, and held a sleeping Remus in his arms. Remus had drifted asleep a few hours earlier, but an occasional sob could still be heard from the sleeping man. Dumbledore cradled him protectively in his lap, thinking about all the pain he himself had suffered throughout his long life.
When Remus woke up, he felt terribly disoriented. He didn't remember where he was or why he was there, until he saw Dumbledore's bearded face. The night's horrors returned with full force, and he broke down in tears yet again. Dumbledore looked at him with an expression of pity in his face.
I'm so sorry this happened to you, you don't deserve any of this, Dumbledore said as he slowly stood up and stretched his legs, while trying to keep eye-contact with Remus to prove that he was sincere.
They were my friends! And Sirius was my everything... he wouldn't have done such a thing, I know him better than anyone else and Sirius isn't like that... it must all be a mistake... Remus whimpered.
I know, Remus, I know. I don't think Sirius did it either, but there's something very odd about all this, and it'll most likely be impossible to clear Sirius' name. Sirius is going to Azkaban, guilty or not, Dumbledore sighed and started pacing around the room, deep in thought.
When Dumbledore several hours later announced that he would have to leave due to a few meetings, but that Remus was welcome to stay if he wanted to, Remus slowly rose to his feet and wiped away a tear.
No thank you, Remus said, I'll be alright... somehow. He tried to smile, but failed miserably.
Very well then. My offer still stands though, the gates of Hogwarts will always be open to you, Dumbledore gave him a reassuring smile and opened the door. Remus gave him a polite nod, and with a heavy heart he descended the stairs.
The gates of Hogwarts locked behind him after he walked past them, and the chilly autumn air ruffled Remus' tawny hair. A tear rolled down Remus' scarred cheek, and he started walking down the road leading to Hogsmeade, even though he had no idea where to go. His only friends were gone, and no one would take pity on a werewolf.
Suddenly a stag stepped out of the woods, and froze when it saw Remus. They stared at eachother for a minute or two, and Remus felt as if someone was stabbing his heart with a dagger repeatedly. His vision began to blur from a new stream of tears as he remembered Jame's animagus form, so he closed his eyes and counted to ten. When he opened them again, the stag was gone. He pulled out his necklace from under his shirt, it was a delicate Gryffindor charm with his initials, R.L, engraved on the back. Sirius had given it to him as a Christmas present a year after they graduated from Hogwarts, and Remus strongly believed that the charm was the reason to why Sirius had sold his motorcycle. He fumbled to open it with frozen fingers, and when he did, a miniature Sirius waved at him from a moving photograph inside. The small Sirius even blew him a kiss and smiled flirtingly.
Remus smiled a sad smile, pressed his lips against the picture in a featherlight kiss, whispered a soft I love you, which was instantly carried away by the wind, and tucked the charm back in under his shirt. He started to walk down the muddy road again, his tattered robes fluttering around him.
He knew where he needed to go.
