Skäggtråden (officiell)
Det får väl gå an.
Hans ansikte blev genast tjockare på något vis.
Skägget ramar ju in!
Jo det stämmer!
Vet hur det är, att se sin haka efter ett par månader är sjukt.
Jag hittade en rätt bra motivationspost på /r/beards:
Really, there's only one way to grow a big beard. Like I said, just don't shave or trim your beard. That's it! So instead of talking about how to grow, what we should be talking about is how to resist the urge to shave or trim.
1) COMMIT TO GROWING A BEARD.
If you've gotten this far, you're probably already there, but here are a few different methods:
Commit to blocks of time. To combat the urge to shave, tell yourself you'll commit to the next two weeks and then reassess when you get there. Don't allow yourself to take it day by day, because you don't want to crack in a moment of beard frustration and then regret it.
Shoot for milestones like holidays or events. I am currently battling the urge for a heavy trim, but I'm trying to hold out for Christmas so I can freak out the extended family I haven't seen for a year with my giant beard.
Of all of these, I've found this to be the most effective method: I always try to grow my beard longer than my last beard. I'm currently at seven months, besting my last beard of five months. It's like racing your ghost in Mario Kart.
EDIT: If you ever find yourself asking the question, "Should I shave my beard or keep growing?" the answer is always DON'T SHAVE. Remember, you can always shave or trim your beard tomorrow, but you can't get it back. If it ever does come time to shave or trim, you'll know. It won't be a question, and when you get to that point, you probably won't have regrets.
2) DOCUMENT YOUR BEARD.
Note when you start growing a beard. I'm not great at this because I like my beards to appear organically (at a certain point I usually just get tired of shaving and then a beard appears), however, this is good for the commitment issue, as well as for the fact that 2-3-4-5-6 months down the line, people will frequently ask, "How long have you been growing that beard?!" and you want to give them an honest answer.
Take frequent pictures. You'll be able to look back, see how far you've come, and will be spurred on toward greater efforts.
3) SHAPE YOUR BEARD.
This is probably the most important thing about growing a quality beard. If you're like me, when you let it go wild you will get frustrated and want to chop it off. My sideburns get so wild that I have to keep them in check, or they will sabotage the enjoyment of the beard. Another huge problem area is the corner of my jaw below my ears. If my longest hairs are 7 months, I'd say I keep this area at 3 or 4 months. In general, I try to go for a rounded beard, where a straight grow with no shaping at all will have lots of wild hair and corners. Whenever I get frustrated and want to shave, I'll discover that really I just need some shaping, and when I'm done I feel like a totally new man. (This goes hand in hand with shaving your neck.)
One caveat to this, I would try to avoid shaping or trimming your mustache if you can. Of all the beard, it is easily the most frustrating, as it frequently gathers food, toothpaste, and gets in your mouth when you try to eat a delicious sandwich. But the look of a nice, full mustache is so boss that it's worth growing out to the point you can comb it to the sides.
4) MAINTAIN YOUR BEARD.
Comb your beard frequently. Nothing so satisfying as a nice comb-through, and then a tangle free beard. When you get to a certain length, tangles will be a problem. I like to comb once in the shower (where tangles give almost no resistance), again after I dry off, and then once more with a military brush after I brush my teeth.
5) GET A HAIRCUT.
Sometimes you get to the end of a week and just feel like a slob. The urge to trim rears it's ugly head, and you don't know how much longer you can last. In these times it is likely your hair, and not your beard, that is causing these feelings. I can't tell you how many times a nice clean haircut has given my beard a totally new life. Double it up with a beard shaping to feel like a million bucks, or alternate them in 2-3 week intervals to look great all year round!
