Big bang ruined maplestory for me. I quit the patch before big bang, as a lvl 72 Hermit, started playing again a couple of weeks ago. 2-3 hours later and I was lvl 160+, easily soloing Zak as a NL, what...the...fuck?
Not to mention the economy (Global, Scania)
Took me 1 hour to max out my mesos cus of stuff I had on mule-chars with items that are no longer available and hence are super rare and expensive, I'm so beyond godly geared it's not even funny anymore. It's basically Maplestory - easy mode.
I miss having to team up with people to do bosses, party quests etc. Now it's nothing but a PQ grind, and lame ones at that with all the new Scrolls and easy funding(perm NX f.ex). Too easy, so yeah, Big Bang ruined it. And IMO Maplestory 2 looks HORRIBLE, one of the reasons I enjoyed maplestory 1 was the retro graphics, and the fact that we had to work together to stay alive during PQ's and boss runs.
Uhm, and why not? I played the market, got shitloads of mesos, bought lots and lots of white scrolls, got OP as fuck, did global PQ's and leveled up roughly 100 lvls in few hours.
There were lots of people doin PQ's, so I have no idea what you are on about. I'm sure there are other better ways to level, but I literally never had any downtime between PQ's. And I have done RA aswell. I think you might be underestimating me?
And yes, I agree, (most of)the new classes are meh, rehashing the old classes with a few minor changes here and there. Nothing really original.
I'm however sure the current end-game is fun if you still have friends who play this game, that was what I appreciated most anyway, bossing with my guild/friends. I did meet a couple of cool people that I played with tho, random strangers.
But most of the people I know who played the game have moved on to other games, as have I. It was a moment of boredom and curiosity that made me come back to see the new stuff etc. I probably won't go "hardcore" again like back in the day, like 07-08 when we had to grind for hours upon hours at the zombies just to level up a few levels x) good times, hah. Reaching 3rd job was a fucking achievement back in the day. Not to mention 4th job when it came out, now it's a piece of cake, sadly.
It just feels less rewarding now than it used to, as leveling and getting high-end gear is so easy.
I will always have fond memories of Maplestory, but for me it's just not the same anymore.

Åh maplestory jag har spelat ett år på global och på ens sedan releasen, jag kommer inte ens ihåg vilka jag hade i 100+ men det var då asnice :D har inte spelat på över ett år nu men har haft god lust att tanka ems igen :)

Since you're pre-bb player, what are you even considering "OP as fuck" (what's your range)? 100 lvs in a few hours is just average nowadays.

Jag vet inte hur det är i EMS, men i GMS kör man RnJ från 70~140. Fast det är inte riktigt som det var förutom för KPQ eller LPQ. Folk drar bara in och grindar på denna stage (bild från google):

Det är en helt ny värld, och de vill väl inte att man ska kunna bli OP genom att köpa eller byta saker. Meningen är att man ska tjäna in allt under resans gång, helt själv.

Sluta Runescape är totaly ett bättre spel än MP, ja det var jag som kastade, vill ni klaga får ni logga msn och myspace!
