Beyond Good & Evil:
Out of the Game Review request page (from the website) comes Beyond Good & Evil. This game can be found on the Gamecube, Xbox, PC, and PS2 (copy reviewed). This game is generally well received by most gaming establishments. But then following the crowd has never been something that Family Friendly Gaming has ever been about.
The storyline follows Jade, who is a journalist, photographer, and anti-establishment paranoid woman. She starts out with a pig-man who has helped raise her. There is a war on going with rebels fighting against the current government and this outside force. Attacks come on Jades planet quite often, and the player gets the unhappy chore of killing off the attackers.
The graphics in Beyond Good & Evil are very dark. The lack of color makes it difficult to determine the quality of the details. It also winds up leading to some major gameplay issues, because way too often it is difficult to find the path forward since you wind up groping around in the dark. The camera also has some major issues, and I found myself fighting it way too often. Dead bodies are left on the ground in certain areas (bosses mainly). There are images of cartoon characters being tortured, kidnapped, and slaughtered. There are some minor occultic images. Jade’s attire is borderline enticement to lust. There are also images of animals that may be encouraging the religion of evolution.
There are some language issues with this, especially using the Lord’s name in vain. There is also some minor name calling, and gross humor. There are also sounds of poor characters being tortured. These sounds are all very crisp, and clear to increase the disturbing factor. Beyond Good & Evil is so difficult that the game over sounds will start to annoy pretty quickly.
Once a player makes it through a level, there is little reason to go back. Collecting all the pictures, items, etc. is the only reason. The troubling content, along with the annoying nature of the game will turn most players off though. Even though this game can be found cheap it is my humble opinion that it is a waste of your hard earned dollars.
The controls are quick, and responsive in Beyond Good & Evil. The design of the control works quite well. Sadly the level design was done pretty poorly. Not only does the camera get in the way, but many times the next place to go to is difficult to find (or figure out how to get to).
This game is a paradise for someone who has major distrust of the government. It teaches to disobey the authorities God has allowed over you.
There are very few video games I say about this - Beyond Good & Evil was a chore to play, and review. The ending of the game leaves the door wide open for a sequel, and the developer was originally planning a trilogy (poor sales changed their minds). This reviewer has no interested in a sequel. I will happily put this game in the vault to never be seen ever again. There are better games.

En hemsida som rekommenderar spel till föräldrar, precis som man kan tyda av namnet.
Varför har den fått så dåligt omdöme, då?
De väljer att inte ha med Mass Effect

Joo, när man inte citerar.
Tropico 4 is the most cerebral game this reviewer has ever played. This game requires thought, patience, and a lot of finesse. The player takes on the role of El Presidente. He is the ruler of a small poor island. Your goal is to change that. In case you are wondering you are to change that for the better. Players have to deal with political factions, the happiness of the people, and the economy. If you enjoy micro-managing an entire small third world country, then you will love Tropico 4.
Family Friendly Gaming was provided a reviewable copy of Tropico 4 on the Xbox 360. This game is also on the Personal Computer. There are updated download packs to add even more game play to Tropico 4 - for a price of course.
Tropico 4 earns its 'T' for Teen rating on a few fronts. Certain female characters could dress better. Yes we understand it is a tropical island, but still. Players may have to deal with a rebel uprising, and squash it militarily. Your island can also be invaded in Tropico 4 if you offend one of the super powers too much.
Intelligent players will spend their first hour with Tropico 4 in the tutorial. This teaches how to navigate and where things are. Don't worry if you forget where a few things are. The game can be paused while you search around later to find it. Speaking of the menu screens - there is an insane amount of content in Tropico 4. Players can build all kinds of things.
Tropico 4 includes a real world logic to it. You need farms to feed the people. Garages near by for workers to get to and from work. Build a logging camp so the furniture store has materials. Or you can import them. In certain cases you will need to import at first. Your island needs clinics for the people. The clinic needs doctors. Doctors must be college educated. Does you island have a high school, and then a college for them to learn?
One of the ways families can use Tropico 4 is to learn basic governmental, and economic structures. This home console game can be used to help teenagers grasp the concepts of the economy and government. Some of the bad content could have been left out so more members of the family could enjoy this game.
Loading screens in Tropico 4 contain interesting quotes from various well known figures. The WMG kept expecting to see a quote from our editor in chief since he has been known to say some powerful things. The biggest problem with Tropico 4 is the words are really tiny on the screens. Most gamers playing Tropico 4 had to get very close to read it. Certain portions of text is read to the player, but other parts are not.

Min reaction
