What is infinity?
Our place in the universe on a timescale is infinitely small, and therefore meaningless.
Duration (Time/Anti-time) stretches towards infinity in both directions. (Yes! I am one of those who tend to believe that duration has a direction, and therefore is a 'real' dimension) That means that any point in time is infinitely small and therefore meaningless, hence we do not really have a place in time.
But then on the other hand, nothing else really does have a place in universe in a timelinebased point of view and that would make every moment in time infinitely significant.
So, What is infinity?
Basically infinity is something with no end, A line segment is a line with two ends and therefore is finite(not endless). A ray, which is a line segment with only one end (it has a start with but no end) is infinite. A line is basically a Ray with no start, It doesn't start anywhere and it doesn't end anywhere, therefore it stretches towards infinity in both directions.
Infinity does not grow
Even though alot of people keep saying that infinity just goes on and on, and that makes it sound as if though infinity keeps growing it does not. Infinity is fixed and it is infinitely large.
Infinity has no number/digit
There is no 'real' way of defining infinity, there are numbers that to some people may seem to be infinite or unreachable (such as the googolplex which is defined buy a 'powertower' 10^10^100) there are always ways of increasing finite numbers. I.E. you could do 10^10^1000 which makes for a pretty much unimaginably large number but it's still finite.
Even though Infinity has no number there are numbers that are infinite per se. 1/3 is a finite number however 0,333333333... is infinite because the decimal 3s follows infinitely.
Infinity+Infinity = Infinity
Infinity + 1 = Infinity
Infinity - 1 = undefined.
Infinity/Infinity = Undefined (Why you may ask? shouldn't it be 1?)
Infinity/Infinity is undefined because of the fact that there is no knowing how large infinity is. And since Infinity+Infinity = Infinity. If infinity/infinity = 1 then all other math would fail. Let me show you.
If
Infinity/Infinity = 1
And
Infinity + Infinity = Infinity
That would mean that
Infinity/Infinity = (Infinity+Infinity)/Infinity
And that
1/1 = (1+1)/1 Which we all know arent true.
Och nu börjar jag bli trött på oändligheten men kontentan av detta är iaf att alla punkter i tiden är obetydligt små och oändligt betydliga på samma gång.
Som vanligt tänker jag för mycket XD
