Rest in Peace

Gjorde ett inlägg på min Facebook-sida som jag vill dela med mig av här också.
Skrev det på engelska, och orkar inte översätta hela, så här har ni det på engelska;

Today I'd like to talk about something serious.

Long before I was in Overworld, back in 2009, I formed a band with some friends. We called the band Still Echo. This was my first serious attempt at entering the music business and also my first "real", hard-working rock band. Still Echo started up initially in October 2009 and between then and June 2011, we released two EP's ("Still Echo EP" and "This Path We Follow") as well as a two-part single entitled "The Inescapable Truth".

In the beginning of the summer 2011, I got an offer to join another band (which I later declined in order to join Overworld instead). Things had been slow in Still Echo and after some grave consideration, I left Still Echo in early September 2011. Still Echo found a new guitar player and continued on without me. I went to a few of their shows and I thought they were doing great! Early this year they released two new demo tracks, which kicked ass. As far as I knew, things were looking good for them.

A month or so ago, their bass player Petri announced that he would be leaving Still Echo to focus on his new project Crestillion instead and Still Echo said that they would start looking for a new bass player.

Yesterday morning, however, Still Echo announced that they would disband due to different ambitions within the band. At first, I didn't really think about it much other than it of course being sad to hear, but now it's actually getting to me.

Still Echo was the first serious project I ever started. It was my ambition to make this the biggest band in the world. I wrote the major part of the band's music and I experienced it grow from nothing to a somewhat recognizable rock band with fans all over the world. Seeing this project come to an end is not without me getting a little emotional.

Linked below is one of the songs I wrote for Still Echo, called "The Inescapable Truth". It's about being true to yourself, listening to your own ambitions and following your dreams. In a way, this song is about everything Still Echo stood for; Living your life and following your dreams.

So with that, I'd like to end this horribly long text with a quote from the song:

"If this would be your last day alive, would you want to do what you're about to do today?"

Rest in Peace, Still Echo.

Blev ganska förvånad när jag fick veta, har ju liksom följt dem sedan start. Känns skitkonstigt att Still Echo inte existerar längre! :0
